Steven G. Cozart is a lifelong resident of Michigan. Steven received undergraduate degrees in political science and social science from Michigan State University where he graduated in 1986. After several years in the consumer products industry he enrolled at Wayne State University School of Law and received his juris doctorate in 1992.
Steven is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of Michigan as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Steven has extensive litigation experience especially in the areas of employment law. Steven is also actively involved in volunteer work and community service including over ten years as a literacy volunteer. Currently Steven is President of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association. Ongoing professional education is also very important to Steven, he has over one hundred hours of continuing legal education and is enrolled in the Institute of Continuing Legal Education's Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program.
